SUMMARY:Emergency Food Baskets
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nThe People’s Potato Emergency Food Basket service exi
 sts in order to supplement our daily servings of by-donation vegan lunches
 . As with the regular servings\, the goal of this project is to make food 
 more accessible to students and community members as the cost of living co
 ntinues to rise. During the regular school year\, food baskets are offere
 d twice monthly in the People's Potato kitchen.  The frequency is increas
 ed during exam periods. This service will be available in the summer for t
 he first time this year!\n\nWho can access this service?\nThe service is 
 open to everyone\, with no registration necessary. Once weekly\, collectiv
 e members of the People's Potato pick up donations from Moisson Montréal 
 – the island's largest food bank provider. These donations consist of it
 ems such as canned and prepared foods\, bread\, milk\, cereal\, etc. The f
 ood donated by Moisson Montréal also contains meat and dairy products.\n\
 nThe People's Potato does not endorse the corporations which produce these
  foods. We also purchase fresh produce\, dried beans\, and grains in order
  to increase the quantity and quality of food available.\n\nWe at the Pota
 to strive to organize the food assistance service in the most accessible\,
  respectful\, and efficient way possible\, and we are always open to sugg
 estions regarding how to do this better!\n\nWhat to bring?\nEveryone must
  bring their own bags as we are not able to provide them. In a desire to
  remain accessible to as many people as possible\, regardless of income or
  immigration status\, we will never ask service users for any form of iden
 tification.\n​\nSpots are limited so first come\, first serve!*\n\n*Alth
 ough the distribution of food bags begins at the times indicated on the po
 ster\, please take into account that there is a long line that forms befor
