 Change Conference on Monday\, June 16th\, from 3:30-5:00pm! Join us at Con
 cordia's 4th Space or online to gain hands-on experience and practical ins
 ights into innovative ways to divert food waste.\n\nInformation:\n\nThe gl
 obal waste crisis has contributed to the acceleration of climate change wh
 ile also reinforcing existing economic and social inequalities. Reimaginin
 g our idea of “waste” is therefore a fundamental component of solving 
 these environmental and social dilemmas. This interactive presentation wil
 l serve as a case study which explores how two Montreal-based groups\, ABC
 ompost and Improove\, are rethinking the concept of waste and actively wor
 king toward transforming the way we approach waste reduction. The goal is 
 to spark creativity in attendees\, help them rethink waste in their own li
 ves\, and empower them to take actionable steps towards fighting the clima
 te change crisis.\n\nSpeakers:\n\nCatherine Rokakis\, ABCompost\n\nCatheri
 ne is a Master's student in the Geography\, Planning\, and Environment pro
 gram at Concordia University\, working under the supervision of Dr. Kevin 
 Gould. She is also the Compost Program Coordinator at the Concordia Greenh
 ouse and co-leads ABCompost\, a student-led composting initiative. Her wor
 k focuses on food waste diversion through vermiculture and educating stude
 nts on sustainable waste management practices as well as food waste reduct
 ion.\n\nSamir Ayachi\, Improove\n\nSamir is the Director of Sales and Mark
 eting at Improove. Improove is a Montreal-based non-profit that fights foo
 d waste and food insecurity by rescuing unsold fruits and vegetables to cr
 eate anti-waste baskets. For every basket sold\, fresh products are also d
 onated to local community organizations. Their showcase will be a visual p
 resentation on how their food baskets redefine the idea of food waste in a
  transformative way that creates positive social and ecological impacts in
