Join us on Wednesday, July 9 at 11:30am at the Dawson Peace Garden for the next workshop in MK’s summer lunch ‘n’ learn series:

Medicinal Plant Foraging Tour with nico schutte.

We will meet at the Dawson Peace Gardens and will walk around learning about medicinal plant properties through identifying and noticing in acts of urban foraging. The tour will end with color-changing butterfly pea lemonade and lunch made by Midnight Kitchen.

nico schutte (they/them) is a co-founder of Co-op CultivAction, a worker-owned and operated solidarity farming cooperative based in NDG. At Co-op CultivAction, nico manages the Loyola farm, cultivates gourmet mushrooms, farms a wide variety of fruit and vegetable crops, transforms herbal goodies into teas and medicines, and teaches foraging classes and many one-off workshops just like this one! They view their farming responsibilities to the land and to their community as a radical political act.

Rejoignez-nous le mercredi 9 juillet à 11h30 au jardin de la paix de Dawson pour le prochain atelier de la série de déjeuners d’été de MK :

Visite de recherche de plantes médicinales avec nico schutte.

Nous nous rencontrerons aux jardins de la paix de Dawson et nous nous promènerons pour apprendre les propriétés des plantes médicinales en les identifiant et en les remarquant dans des actes de recherche de nourriture en milieu urbain. La visite se terminera par la dégustation d’une limonade à base de pois de papillon aux couleurs changeantes et d’un repas préparé par Midnight Kitchen.
